Baby & Toddler Story Time
An interactive program designed to encourage very young children and their accompanying adults to engage with books, rhymes, music, and each other. Ages 0 to 2 years.
Preschool Story Time
An interactive program designed to foster a love of books while also introducing early literacy skills and making the library a place where children, parents, and caregivers feel welcome. Held at all three locations. Ages 2 to 5.
Monday Films
Matinee showings of a variety of films. Offered most Mondays.
Needlecrafters
A weekly program for handicrafters of all levels. Instruction available for learning crocheting, knitting, and hand sewing.
Book Groups

Writers Groups
KCPL offers two regular programs, KCPL Writers’ Group and Wordsmiths, that are designed to provide a supportive network for local writers.
Friends of Kent County Public Library Author Visit
This program, funded by the Friends of Kent County Public Library, brings an author to KCPL for an evening program that includes a reception, book signing, and author talk.
National Library Week
National Library Week is an observance sponsored by the American Library Association in order to celebrate libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. Held in April.
One Maryland One Book
One Maryland One Book is a program of Maryland Humanities designed to bring together diverse people in communities across the state through the shared experience of reading the same book. KCPL participates by making copies of the book available and offering programs related to its themes. Held in September and October.
Summer Reading Program
Special programs and activities for all ages centered around a theme. Held June-August.
