Can't Find It?

Can't Find the Catalog Record?

Having trouble finding something while searching our online catalog? Check out our search tips, or feel free to see a librarian or contact us by phone or email. As librarians we have magical powers when it comes to finding stuff, or maybe it's just specialized training combined with lots of experience. Either way, we'll give the search another whirl, and if we don't find it either, we can explore other options, like Interlibrary Loan, to get you that book you're looking for. So, please, don't be shy about asking for help. That's what we're here for.

Can't Find the Actual Item?

Once you've located an item in the catalog that you wish to find, take a closer look at the record. It will tell you which branches have copies available or checked out. It will tell you the call number (a Dewey decimal number if it's nonfiction or part of the author's last name if it's fiction). And, perhaps most importantly, if you click on "Details" it will tell you the location you need to search. These locations appear on the map of the Chestertown Branch, available as an image or a printable document. And, once again, don't hesitate to ask a staff member for help. It's not an inconvenience. It's our job.
