Director tech@kentlib.orgThe Tech Services department is dedicated to acquiring and preparing library materials for community use. Our responsibilities include ordering, receiving, cataloging, and labeling materials for the collection. We also manage inter-library loan requests, ensuring that our patrons have access to a wide range of resources. In addition, we oversee the proper functioning of all library technology, maintain comprehensive library data and statistics, and support the technology needs of other library departments.
In a rapidly evolving technological landscape, it's easy for people to feel left behind. I find fulfillment in bridging that gap, helping others learn simple ways to navigate technology with less stress. Many who seek our assistance are hesitant to ask questions, but every question is valid. Technology is like any habit—the more you use it, the more intuitive it becomes. Yet, there are essential processes we encounter only occasionally, or even just once in a lifetime. That's where the library steps in, offering the support people need to navigate these challenges.
