In an emergency situation, being able to act quickly can mean the difference between life and death. This workshop will teach you the skills you need to recognize and control life-threatening bleeding.
Blood loss due to trauma is one of the major causes of preventable death every year. Uncontrolled bleeding can cause death in as few as 3 minutes, while the national average EMS response time is 7-10 minutes. Having individuals trained in bleeding control techniques nearby to control bleeding in the critical minutes between injury and EMS arrival, can mean the difference between life and death. The Stop the Bleed class is a mixture of lecture and hands-on skills practice designed to teach participants how to recognize and control life-threatening bleeding.
A certificate of completion will be given to all who successfully complete the training.
This training is presented in partnership with Kent County Health Department.
Space is limited, so please register to reserve your seat.
