Dyslexia Summit
This Summit brings together leading educators and librarians serving the disability community to share the latest research and introduce new resources.
This all-day virtual program is free and open to the public. Join for the full day or pick and choose presentations that interest you!
Presentations Include:
10:15am – Comorbidities and Challenges
How Dyslexia presents itself in individuals with comorbidities (anxiety, ADHD etc.), and 2E (twice exceptional students).
11am – Maryland State Library for the Blind and Print Disabled (LBPD)
Learn how the Maryland State Library for the Blind and Print Disabled provides services to those unable to access print due to visual, physical, or other print disability. Services include books and magazines in audio and braille, assistive technology training, the Maryland Accessible College Textbook program, events, and more.
1pm – Assistive Technology Showcase
Jerry Price of the Maryland State Library for the Blind and Print Disabled discusses the latest in technology that students, parents, and adults with dyslexia can use to navigate print.
2pm – Keynote: Dyslexia Strengths
Join the founders of the Dyslexic Advantage, Drs. Brock and Fernette Eide, for a keynote talk about how dyslexia can be a strength.
3pm – Advocacy with the International Dyslexia Association of DC
Learn how to navigate the advocacy world to locate tools and resources to support you and your students with the International Dyslexia Association, DC Chapter.
