Holiday Family Connections: Reach Out to Incarcerated Loved Ones
Holidays can be hard when family and friends can't be with you and figuring out how to stay connected with loved ones who are incarcerated can be a challenge.
If you want to connect to an incarcerated loved one around the holidays, join KCPL for a very special event where you can:
- Have a professional personal or family portrait taken to send your loved one
- Use fun backdrops to take Polaroid photos
- Make special holiday cards or postcards
- Create crafts
- Eat dinner
- Spend time with other people who understand what it's like to have a loved one incarcerated
- Receive one-on-one tech help navigating the apps and services used for virtual prison visits
- Take home free books for kids and adults
If you are able to provide the mailing address for the facility where your loved one is incarcerated, KCPL can provide all mailing materials and cover the cost of postage.
All materials and services are completely FREE for participants.
KCPL will be offering three sessions of this event. You can choose what works best for your schedule and attend as many as you like.
