DONATIONS TO SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS
The Friends of the Kent County Public Library and the Foundation for the Kent County Public Library are nonprofit organizations that exist to provide support to KCPL. Donations made to these organizations are tax-deductible and benefit the library in a variety of ways. For more information, see our Library Supporters page.
BOOK DONATIONS
KCPL does not directly accept book donations. However, book donations can be made to the Friends of the Kent County Public Library during scheduled donation times (see below). If no donation events are listed on this page, it is because the Friends are not accepting donations at this time.
Memorial Donations
If you would like to make a monetary donation in memory of a loved one, we would be honored to receive it.
Memorial donations can be made as unrestricted gifts or they can be designated for purchasing books or other materials for the library's collection. When memorial donations are designated for purchasing books, library staff are happy to work with you to choose items that meet library needs and also honor the interests of the person being memorialized. Often this is done by selecting a specific subject area, genre, or type of material. Library staff will then select materials that are within the chosen parameters in accordance with the Materials Selection Policy. A special book plate is created and placed in the materials purchased with memorial donations.
